Helloooooo Week 5. Five weeks and I’ve barely made a dent in my goals. Well, that’s all about to change because I am now working with a deadline. Sure, I’m an indie author and my deadlines are self-imposed, but I did hire an editor for August and I did tell my betas to expect my manuscript by the 15th, so….I must meet the deadline.
How I did on last week’s goals
Shitty. Let’s just leave it at that. But I did start working out. That wasn’t on the goal list, but I joined a gym and I’ve gone 5 times. That’s huge for me.
My goal(s) for this week
Hustle! I wrote down in my planner that I am to write 2k words a day. I just need to finish the manuscript and I have no idea how many words that will entail. Just get-r-done.
A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised
Lulu approached Liam and gingerly lifted a dark curl away from the cut. She was heavy-set and wearing a turquoise blouse and matching head wrap. She and Timothy shared the same dark eyes and wide nose, but Timothy’s chin was more pointed. Lulu’s round face was maternal and soft, although she was no nonsense as rummaged through the medical supplies. Liam wondered if this was what it was like to be cared for by a mother.
The biggest challenge I faced this week (ex. finding time to write)
Concentration and drumming up energy to write at night when my kids are asleep.
Something I love about my WIP
I can’t remember if I mentioned this but I really love my secondary characters, Timothy, in particular. He’s got sass and wisdom and a wicked fashion sense.
